Have a spooktacular weekend with these Halloween movies

The pumpkins are carved, the house is looking spooky, the costumes are on, it’s time to have a nice Halloween Saturday… in the house. Yep, thanks to the coronavirus most people will likely be creeping about at home this weekend. Luckily, we have a devilishly delicious selection of movie lists to keep everyone entertained. So grab your loot bag, get your fangs out and crawl up on the couch.

Whether you’re a witch, vampire, ghoul, or goblin, Disney Plus have a great selection of not so scary movies to binge over the Halloween weekend with or without the family. Here are our favourite picks on the platform right now:

Into the Woods (2014)

A grisly retelling of the fairly tales you thought you knew. This musical ensemble follows a baker and his wife as they seek to break an evil witches curse. A must-see for any musical lover or if you just fancy a good old cackle!

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

What is this? The Pumpkin King is bored with the same old Halloween routine, he seeks to spread the joy of Christmas, but instead his plans soon become a real nightmare. Check this one out for a terrifyingly memorable movie experience.

Hocus Pocus (1993)

This is no time to form a calming circle as there’s nothing this trio of 300-year-old witches won’t do to reclaim their youth. Resurrected three centuries after their curse the Sanderson Sisters are back to wreak havoc and run amuck! Take a trip down memory lane with this Halloween family classic.

Edward Scissorhands (1990)

Edward was invented by a man who never got to complete his masterpiece. Now left with shears for hands, an outcast because of his freakish appearance and famed for a crime he did not commit. Slice into this romanic fantasy from Tim Burton.

The Haunted Mansion (2003)

A real estate agent and his family visit a property whilst on vacation, the mansion is for sale, but there is only one problem… it is haunted by evil spirits. Worry not, this comedy fantasy is child friendly.

Frankenweenie (2012)

Sparky the dog becomes a zombie called Frankenweenie in this Tim Burton classic. After being hit by a car a young boy resurrects his pet dog, now a zombie dog, Sparky is terrorising the neighbours.

Maleficient (2014)

Yet another fairytale you thought you knew. Angelina Jolie is mesmerising as the magnificent mistress Maleficent in this live-action retelling of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. Prepare to be dazzled, and inspired.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019)

This second instalment will leave you feeling even more nostalgic than the first. This time, Maleficent discovers who she really is, but, there is a new villain in the castle, a mother-in-law with wicked plans to destroy every fairy in the land.

Halloween Town (1998)

When Grandma comes to visit, the Piper children notice strange things about her. They follow her back to Halloweentown, a place where only supernatural beings can live normally. This witchy tale is plenty full of oddities and evil beings.

The Scream Team (2002)

A town of restless ghosts cannot crossover until they redeem themselves. After the death of their grandfather, Claire and Ian must free the souls of the ghosts that were captured by one master evil ghost!

We hope you enjoyed our list and have a super spooky Halloween!
